Terms of Use
Last updated: 10 July 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Languages Lab (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are accepting on behalf of a school or organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
2. The Service
Languages Lab lets you upload coursebooks and other documents, extracts and classifies their content, renders text-to-speech audio for language practice, and publishes lessons to learners online or as an offline bundle. Features vary by plan and may change over time.
3. Accounts & eligibility
You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for activity under your account. The Service is intended for use by educators and organisations; the person who registers and contracts must be an adult able to enter a binding agreement. It is not directed to children as end customers.
Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use at support@languageslab.mastereyes.com.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that infringes intellectual-property rights.
- Upload unlawful, harmful, or inappropriate material, or content that violates others' privacy.
- Attempt to breach tenant isolation, security, or access other organisations' data.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent quotas or rate limits.
- Resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted by your plan.
- Use the Service to build a competing product or to train competing models on our outputs.
5. Your content & the licence you grant us
You retain all rights in the content you upload (“Your Content”). You grant Languages Lab a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit to the subprocessors described in our Privacy Policy, and display Your Content solely to provide the Service to you and your learners.
Copyright of coursebooks. Many coursebooks are protected by copyright. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights, licences, or permissions (or a valid exception, such as fair use/fair dealing where applicable) to upload and process the materials you submit, and to distribute the resulting lessons to your learners. You agree to indemnify us for claims arising from Your Content as described below.
6. Our intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, models orchestration, and brand — is owned by Languages Lab and its licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service per these Terms. Audio and lessons you generate from Your Content are yours to use for your educational purposes.
7. Subscriptions, billing & refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment provider. Fees, seats, and usage limits are shown at checkout and on the Pricing page. AI usage is metered per tenant; overage or metered features may incur additional charges disclosed in-app.
Unless required by law or stated otherwise, payments are non-refundable. You can cancel to stop future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period. We may change prices with reasonable notice effective at your next renewal.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers (including speech-synthesis, OCR, language-model, hosting, and payment providers). Their availability and terms are outside our control, and we are not liable for their acts or omissions beyond our contractual arrangements with them.
9. Availability & changes
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and may perform maintenance. We will use reasonable efforts to give notice of material adverse changes.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. AI-generated extraction, classification, and audio may contain errors; you are responsible for reviewing lessons before delivering them to learners. We do not warrant that outputs are accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Languages Lab and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Languages Lab harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms — including claims that Your Content infringes a third party's rights.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or to comply with law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity) will survive.
14. Governing law & changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified and the “Last updated” date revised. Continued use after changes means you accept them. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Languages Lab's place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes are subject to the competent courts there, unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
